What Is Website Development and What Does It Mean to Me?
Website Development is taking and idea, meshing it with your Brand image, designing a website that is attractive to your Target Market, structuring the website for SEO, adding your web copy to it, adjusting the web copy for SEO, incorporating a shopping cart and other systems and delivering a high-end product that works for your business.
It is like building a house. To make a house last, the foundation (site structure, hosting platform, etc.) needs to be strong enough to hold the current house and any additions to the house. The plumbing, electrical, and ventelation systems running through the house (i.e. scripts, code, shopping cart, gateway, functions, etc.) need to work to maximize the space for the furniture and coverings (content, graphics, etc.).
It takes a skilled hand to build a house from the ground up. Just like it takes a skilled hand to build a website from the ground up. Anyone can take a Word document and save it as HTML and slap it on the World Wide Web, but do you honestly think their Target Market would use them (if they could find them)?
